One of Africa's most breath-taking safari locations is the Ngorongoro Crater, which is frequently referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World. More than 25,000 animals call this enormous, intact caldera home, providing some of Tanzania's best chances for game viewing.
Entering the crater is similar to entering a wildlife-filled natural amphitheater. The Big Five can be seen here, along with sizable herds of buffalo, zebras, and wildebeest, endangered black rhinos, and lion prides. From flamingos on Lake Magadi to soaring raptors beyond the rim, the crater is home to an amazing array of birds.
